The story of Mr. Yanpvuo Erui is indeed a story of passion meeting passion. Hailing from New Wokha village, Mr. Yanpvuo had a passion for Passion fruit since 2006, when through the assistance of the Department under HTM scheme; he embarked on a passionate journey with 2 Ha areas under passion fruit. Initially, he yielded 6 tonnes of harvest from which he earned Rs. 60000/- through sale of the fruits. Encouraged by this initial result, he went on to extend his passion fruit farm by another 3 ha in 2012-13 from which presently earns around Rs. 1.5-1.7 Lakhs just by the sale of his passion fruit, which he sells in the Local Market, Wokha Town, Dimapur and other Districts and through which he manages his family. He now intends to bring more area under passion fruit and reap the benefits that this fruit has to offer.
