Who says that you need a white-collared job to make a comfortable living? The Story of Neituo Keyientsu, son of Khareio Keyientsu from Rusoma Village may change your mind. Instead of looking for a white-collared job unlike most of his peers after his Graduation, he started citrus farming under the initiative of the Horticulture Department in 2006, with an assistance of 500 nos of plants under the Horticulture Technology Mission and a financial assistance of Rs. 12000/- in an area of 2 acres. Since then, there has been no looking back as he went on to be one of the most exemplary progressive farmer-cum-entrepreneurs, who earns a whopping Rs. 2 Lakhs/ Season just by the sale of Oranges alone. Not content on riding in the wave of this success, he set up his own private citrus nursery in 2015 which earns him an additional amount of Rs.20000-30000 per year. Today, his farm covers a total area of 10 acres with a total of 2500 plants out of which 2-3 acres are in mass production.
